Changes to this website after December 31, 2011
Write to Henry.Wirth@Yahoo.com if you have any questions.
Main Changes:
Doug Weimer retired from WEIMERandWIRTH on December 31, 2011
and
SUBSCRIPTIONS to WEIMERandWIRTH are NO LONGER AVAILABLE
I will miss Doug, but I have decided to continue with WW because a significant number of subscribers encouraged me. I will continue to disseminate sales notices and the weekly report, and I will disseminate the new picks that Doug formerly disseminated. However, I will no longer solicit or accept new subscribers.
I will not solicit or accept new subscribers for several important reasons:
1. After more than ten years of managing WEIMERandWIRTH, Doug and I have learned that the financial newsletter business is primarily a marketing game. In my opinion, that is true of almost the entire financial services industry. I do not have the time, nor do I have the inclination to sell anything other than growth and momentum stocks that I have purchased in the hope of earning a profit.
2. If the system works reasonably well in the future, then I will earn far more money trading stocks than I could possibly earn by managing a micro cap newsletter. However, I will repeat that it is Extremely Difficult to outperform an appropriate index over the long term, and the poor returns of 2011 have compromised my faith in my ability to continue to outperform in the future.
Ideally I would like WW to become a more cooperative effort. Many subscribers have impressive scientific credentials and backgrounds. I would like to use some of those skills to further optimize performance. If you believe you can add value to the return of the WW Model Portfolio, then get back to me. If you can help add value to the portfolio, then you will be rewarded with a free renewal for the life of this service. In a perfect world we would all contribute to the optimization process, the system would continue to improve, and none of us would have to pay anything. We'll see...
Other changes
1. After 2011, I will no longer report the returns of the WW Model Portfolio. The Quarter and Year to Date returns were generally updated every Saturday before 2012. However, I will continue to update the YEARLY returns on the Performance History page of this website after each year is completed.
